Strategies of Success (F1) What:
Submodalities are not just theoretical qualities of experience; they are
places in the brain. Parts aren’t just ideas; we can see them on brain
scans. In this presentation, Richard gives you some examples of using the
brain itself as the ultimate reframe for what we do in NLP. Explain NLP to
others clearer and understand it as an applied brain science. How:
A slide show presentation will show you directly the (often bizarre)
effects of the brain’s visual processing of sensory experiences. In
brief practical experiments you will experience the kinesthetic processing
described, and you will feel in your body the difference between the
brain’s “map” and the “territory”. Why:
Wherever you use NLP, knowing how it works in the brain can clarify what
you do and generate new choices. What does recent brain research tell us
about treatments for dyslexia or for sexual addictions, or about cross
cultural co-operation? How can an understanding of the link between
submodalities and metaphor help us design better metaphors?
Beyond Self: Modelling Transcendence - Spirituality, Self-awareness (H3) What:
It is love that makes life meaningful. Love is not merely an emotion, but
the experience of the fundamental oneness of all that is, without the
usual filtering processes of self versus other, now versus then. These
filters, so useful in some areas of life, are stilled when we experience
joy. Richard presents an NLP modelling of the structure of this joy. How:
Using simple NLP-style techniques modelled from spiritual teachers in
several traditions, Richard will guide you into a state where the sense of
self is quiet. You’ll practice the techniques and learn how to guide
others into them. Why:
Take some time during this life, which is so precious and so
extraordinarily beautiful, to touch what religions have called “sacred”.
Use NLP models to step into the experience which the greatest teachers
have sought to convey. Without that, everything else is empty words, maps
and theories. With it, all things have meaning.

Richard Bolstad "Resolve -a new model of therapy"

The RESOLVE framework integrates NLP's effective brief therapy and the personal encounter of psychotherapy. Using techniques that access the deeper structure of the brain for fast, permanent change, "RESOLVE" demonstrates how to: - identify the techniques that work for each client - create a relationship that empowers - introduce changes in life-approach - access inner skills, strategies and strengths - ensure that change occurs in the deeper brain structures where older patterns of behaviour were first laid down - recognise stages in the therapeutic process, and respond most effectively for that stage. Richard gives examples from his work with PTSD in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and with addictions, depression, anxiety conditions, personality disorders and psychoses in clinical practice in New Zealand and elsewhere. His framework is wonderfully clear and easy to follow for all those wishing to make fundamental life changes quickly and effectively. "A must read for any professional trainer or psychotherapist who wants to stay informed." - L. Michael Hall PhD, Cognitive-Behavioural psychologist, author and international trainer. |

L.M. Hall, Bob G. Bodenhamer, Richard Bolstad "The Structure of
Personality" Hardcover: 496 pages Publisher: Crown House Publishing (July 31, 2001) Language: English ISBN: 1899836675 |
Personality is not a "thing", it is a process. When we discuss personality, what we are talking about is a system of responding and relating or, more precisely, a set of behaviours. This is good news for those who deal with, or suffer with, personality problems. What it means is that personality can be reordered and reprogrammed in a way that is both beneficial and liberating. This volume begins by exploring how we actively "pattern" experience. Guiding us through the cognitive system of internal representation, it examines the contexts and environments in which such patterning arises, and the higher levels at which we produce beliefs and values that determine our behaviours. Once it has identified the process of producing a personality, it presents strategies that will alter those behaviours and reprogramme personality, targeting each stage of personality production - and in particular, the stage at which the client determines core beliefs. Coaching the reader in a number of effective and especially adapted NLP techniques, "The Personality Process" includes reordering strategies such as The R.E.S.O.L.V.E. model, that ingeniously sequences a number of key tasks that form an important part of change work, and the Personal Strengths Model, that determines which NLP techniques will be useful for yourself or for a client. Addressing general behaviour problems and specific personality disorders such as schizophrenia, paranoia and addiction, it is an essential reference for counsellors, therapists and NLP practitioners, presenting effective solutions to personality disorders. |
