The Orishas are not only the personalities appearing under different names as the Pantheons of the gods in various cultures, but also they are the basic building blocks of your human personality. These Pantheons include Valhalla, the Boddhisatvas depicted in the Sacred Scrolls of Tibet, the Orishas of Nigeria, and the Dreamtime of the Australian Aborigines. There are remarkable similarities between the stories of the Orishas in Nigeria to the Australian Dreamtime, yet there is no feasible way there could be material transportation of this knowledge from one place to the other.

A person with a problem is attempting to control one life system with the rules of another system and has lost the ability to call the resources of nature to the present situation.
In traditional NLP, a Coach boosts their client’s confidence or internal state by the ritual of calling evoking “Resources” which is normally by modeling a powerful state in their past memory. The reason this therapeutic ritual has some functionality actually has nothing to do with the past, but because our body language at all moments is a high-powered antenna to the universe.

Depressed postures evoke the energy called “depression” from the Universe. The biological sense named Kinesthesia is defined as our internal sense of muscle positions, and that is the sense that tells us what emotion we are feeling.

Our body postures are directed automatically by our internal imagery, and Orisha archetypal images are the forms of humans and the gods at their greatness. The personal skill of selecting appropriate internal imagery in its purest form ensures the support of powers of the Universe in implementing our creativity at the genius level.
The word Yoruba word “Orí” could be translated as “head” or “Higher Self” and really means “your head, if it were conscious” and “sha” is power, light, or Love of light, so “Orisha” means “the power that comes from the universe to support you when you choose to be conscious”. These powers are selected by our internal imagery, which initializes our body postures, which calls in the related force of Nature into our lives.
The Archetypes of C.G. Jung are generally experienced as “states of being”, and the Orishas are generally experienced as “states of Doing.” This makes the latter a more useful model to use in Coaching where the objective is greater successful performance in Life.

All successful coaching or therapy will have, at least unconsciously, increased the client’s power to select the posture that evokes the support of nature to their life situation.
