In recent years NLP and Coaching have developed rapidly. The content of NLP can be used perfectly for Coaching. For the recognition of professional NLP scientific research is still missing in a lot of areas. Students of the distance learning studies in Psychology with a focus on NLP and Coaching at the Universidad Central de Nicaragua (UCN) now have the possibility to work with professional support on scientific research with practical relevance in the area of NLP and Coaching. At the moment academic degrees as M.A. in Psychology and Ph.D. in Psychology are possible.

The Central University of Nicaragua UCN is a non-profit Institution and it is fully accredited by the Federal Ministry of Education of the Republic. In its recent history the university has conducted a campaign of international development making agreements with universities in different parts of the world to have official representatives in countries and regions like the USA, Mexico, Cuba, Bolivia, Central America, Asia, and Europe. It offers studies in areas like: social work, education, psychology, public health, management, leadership, naturopathy sports medicine, world economy, tropical medicine, philosophy, etc.
The students at the UCN are politically active.

Universidad Central de Nicaragua is among the leading Central American universities, and is the outstanding private Nicaraguan university. Bona fide internationally recognized higher education standards and the profile of the studies have supported the national and international status and reputation of UCN as the outstanding higher education provider in Nicaragua and among the best in Latin America in the study languages Spanish and English. It was possible to reach a new professional and academic level of quality in the trainings in NLP & Coaching through a cooperation between the International Association of NLP-Institutes (IN), the International Association of Coaching Institutes (ICI) and the Universidad Central de Nicaragua (UCN).
IN and ICI are involved as independent advisors without decision-making authority. The studies are highly outcome and praxis related.
With these studies a new professional quality in NLP and Coaching is made possible. On the one hand NLP and Coaching trainings can be accepted as credit points for the studies and on the other hand a new level of depth and intensity in dealing with NLP and Coaching becomes possible. Trainings in NLP and Coaching can be accepted as credit points (ECTS) for these new academic studies. The studies are designed in accordance with the ideas of the Bologna Process regarding life-long and life-accompanying learning with focus on practical use. They guarantee a new international quality standard in NLP and Coaching.
The new academic studies in NLP & Coaching are:
- Master of Arts in Psychology with a focus on NLP and Coaching (M.A. Psychology), 10 semesters of study with a university entrance diploma or 4 semesters after a completed university study, credit points, e.g. for: NLP trainings, conducted coachings and acquired competences
- Doctorate in Psychology with a focus on NLP and Coaching (Dr., Ph.D.), 3 years of studies, credit points. e.g. for: NLP-trainings, conducted coachings and acquired competences, entry requirement: MA in Psychology or a completed university study and a lot of practical experiences.

The studies are supported by coachings (in English or German). The Universidad Central de Nicaragua has branch campuses in Berlin and other international cities for all necessary exams. The academic studies are distant learning studies with internet and video skype support. IN and ICI sealed trainings in NLP und Coaching can be accepted as credit points (ECTS). Other trainings require exams to ensure the high quality standards of IN and ICI. The Universidad Central de Nicaragua (UCN) has authorized Nandana Nielsen & Karl Nielsen with the organization and realization of these academic studies in Psychology with a focus on NLP and Coaching at the faculty for international programs at the Department of Human Communication. The e-learning platform for the studies is the proven Moodle-System. Lecturers at the UCN are besides Nandana and Karl Nielsen: Professor Dr. Gabriel Kovac from Israel, Dr. Ricardo Roberto Saavedra Hidalgo from Mexico, Leo Angart from China, Nada Kaiser from Croatia, Richard Bolstad, Ph.D. from New Zealand.
